Touch-a-Truck Family Festival

Once again we had sunny skies for the 2^nd Annual Touch a Truck Festival. Roughly 400 people passed through the gates to investigate the vehicles this year. Horn honking seemed the popular activity for the day! Many of the children enjoyed the bounce house and face painting while I think the adults enjoyed performance artist Daniel Forlano. Mabel I Wilson student Scotty Wentzell won the raffle for the fire truck ride to school – congratulations Scotty! All in all it was a successful community gathering. Thank you to the numerous volunteers, corporate sponsors and of course the businesses who donated their vehicles and their employees – we honestly could not do it without you!

Memorial Mile & Fun Run

Congratulations to all who participated in the 12th annual Memorial Mile Fun Run and Race this Memorial Day! We appreciate everyone who came out for the big event. A huge thank you to all the volunteers who helped set up. A special thanks to all the pie bakers !!! read more

The PTO Annual Meeting took place on Tuesday, May 13th. The PTO Board for the 2008-09 school year has been voted in, but there are still opportunities for you to get involved.

Teacher Appreciation Week: Thank you & Congratulations!

The Week of May 1st was Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week in the school district. Thank you to all who helped the children show their teachers how much they are valued and appreciated. Thank you also to our many PTO helpers and bakers without whom the week would not have been such a success. Congratulations to the lucky winners of the prize drawings that were held at each school.

Stephen Snyder, a Greely Middle School eighth grader, recently represented MSAD 51 in the state of Maine National Geographic Society's Geography Bee. Stephen did a great job, and even though he didn't make it to the final round, we think he is a winner! read more kudos
