Ruth’s Reusable Resources

In FY 2009-2010, PTO paid $4,732 in membership fees for Ruth’s Reusable Resources (3R’s) which is a non-profit organization with a simple mission: To ensure that students and classrooms in Maine have the basic tools for learning by transferring the communities’ surplus supplies and merchandise into the hands of teachers and school children.  They accomplish this by securing items no longer needed by local businesses and corporations and offering them to teachers through their warehouse “store” in Portland.  MSAD 51 staff obtained merchandise valued at $67,061.80.

Dear PTO Members,
Thank you for funding our membership to Ruth's again this year.  The store provides valuable resources that would otherwise cost the district much more than the annual fee.  Just this weekend, I saved the district almost $300!  Thanks for your support.
