The MSAD 51 Parent Teacher Organization has existed in some form since 1976, finally applying for and receiving tax-exempt 501(c)3 status in 2009. While over the years the focus has changed to meet current needs and many programs have been added, the mission has remained the same. The purpose of the PTO is to enhance the educational experience for children attending public schools located in the Towns of Cumberland and North Yarmouth, Maine (the district) through communication and cooperation among parents, teachers and administration of MSAD 51.
The PTO shall develop, maintain and finance programs, functions and projects that
Provide enrichment opportunities for the students, parents and teachers in the district
Promote positive school and community relations by fostering communication between school administrators, parents, teachers, staff and the Cumberland and North Yarmouth community.
Provide special family and community events
Provide recognition events for administrators, teachers and employees of the district
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer in your child's classroom or for other exciting events, please fill out the Volunteer Application and return it to your child' school office.
