Recess Volunteer Program

This Mabel I Wilson School program focuses on teaching teamwork through organized games and reinforcing responsibility at the end of playtime.  You may volunteer at recess daily, weekly, monthly – whatever works for you!   A session is planned early in the school year to provide training for volunteers in many of the games played in the physical education classes.  Willing hands are needed periodically to maintain the playground with the occasional sweeping of the tar area and repainting of the 4 square and hopscotch games (materials provided).  Volunteers are required to check in at the office, don a vest so you are visible to the children on the playground, and then check in with playground supervisors.  Children will be educated in the classroom about recess volunteers and will be on the lookout for you!  Once a group is established a schedule with dates and times will be provided quarterly.
